Build Water Well for Kibera Community
The residents of Kibera slums have been struggling with access to clean water for years.
We want to build a community water well that will serve over 500 families and provide safe, reliable, and affordable water every day.
The Project Includes:
- Drilling a deep borehole well (up to 100 meters)
- Solar-powered pump for sustainable water supply
- 10,000+ liter water storage tank
- Filtration system to ensure clean, safe drinking water
- Public tap station for community access
- Training of a local water management committee
- Awareness campaigns on hygiene and water conservation
This project is community-led, ensuring sustainability and long-term impact.
Why It Matters
In Kibera, clean water is a daily struggle. Most residents either:
- Rely on dirty or contaminated water from open sources
- Pay high prices to private water vendors
- Walk long distances daily to fetch water
- Suffer from waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid
Families especially women and children are hardest hit. A single water well could change all that.
